Finding rest after decades of sleepless nights.

Finding rest after decades of sleepless nights.

For as long as I can remember, sleep has been a battle. I’d lie awake at night, my mind spinning with endless to-do lists and replaying the stress of the day. It wasn’t just the occasional restless night—this was my reality for decades.

I thought I could power through it. I told myself it was normal, especially as I juggled the demands of my career. But over time especially after I had the kids, the exhaustion caught up with me. My focus slipped, my creativity dwindled, and I realized I was pouring from an empty cup. Something had to change.

My Wake-Up Call

Like many of us, I relied on caffeine to get through the day. Coffee wasn’t just a habit—it was my lifeline. And while it helped me survive my busy schedule, I didn’t realize it was sabotaging my nights. Combine that with a stressful work life, and I had the perfect storm for sleeplessness.

It took me a while to understand the connection, but when I did, it was a wake-up call. I wasn't an insomniac. I was accepting exhaustion as my default state. I needed to make sleep a priority—not just for my health but for my creativity and overall well-being.

Finding the Right Routine

This is going to sound extreme, but I cut caffeine. Don't get me wrong, I'll have a cup of coffee every now and then, but it's a treat. I also started learning more about CBN and its benefits.

CBN (cannabinol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are a dynamic duo when it comes to relaxation and rest. CBN is known for its calming, sedative-like properties, making it an ideal choice for winding down after a long day. Paired with THC, which enhances the entourage effect by amplifying the benefits of cannabinoids working together, the combination helps promote a deeper sense of relaxation and can ease the mind into a restful state. Together, they create a powerful yet gentle way to support better sleep and overall well-being.

For Dear Flor's Ube Boba gummy, we wanted to create a gummy that would help people like me get the rest we need without the groggy hangover feeling in the morning (I'm looking at you, melatonin).  So we developed ours with a ratio of 5mg THC to 3mg CBN and personally, it's a good balance that helps me get the 7 hours of solid rest.  Not to mention, it tastes pretty good -- the calming effects of CBN combined with the subtle sweetness of ube and the caramelized brown sugar finish helped me wind down in a way I hadn’t experienced in years. It's indulgent yet grounding, like a small ritual signaling to my body that it was time to rest.

How Sleep Changed Everything

Now, I take an Ube Boba Gummy a few times a week, especially after particularly hectic days. The difference has been life-changing. Sleep has gone from something elusive to something that happens.

And the best part? Restoring my sleep has also restored my creativity and my mental acuity. When I’m well-rested, I can think more clearly, solve problems more effectively, and approach challenges with fresh energy. It’s incredible what life is like when you’re not running on empty.

My Hope for You

I know I’m not alone in this struggle. So many of us put sleep on the back burner, thinking we can push through without it. But trust me—it’s worth making rest a priority.

For me, it’s about creating small moments of care that add up. Whether it’s enjoying an Ube Boba Gummy before bed or simply taking a few minutes to pause, these rituals have made all the difference.

If you’ve been battling sleepless nights like I was, I hope my story reminds you that change is possible. Sleep isn’t just about getting through the night—it’s about showing up for yourself and the life you want to live.

Here’s to more restful nights and brighter days ahead.
