Introducing Casielle Santos-Gaerlan: Dear Flor’s First Artist-in-Residence

Introducing Casielle Santos-Gaerlan: Dear Flor’s First Artist-in-Residence

At Dear Flor, our mission goes beyond gummies—we aim to highlight and support the vibrant creativity rooted in Filipino culture. We are proud to introduce the talented Casielle Santos-Gaerlan as our inaugural Artist-in-Residence, launching a program dedicated to uplifting Filipino artists.

Who is Casielle Santos-Gaerlan?

Casielle is a Brooklyn-based, Filipino-American multidisciplinary artist and designer. A graduate of Parsons The New School for Design with a Fine Arts degree, she combines bold concepts, vivid color, and intricate forms to celebrate women’s empowerment, personal style, and cultural heritage. Her impressive portfolio includes collaborations with renowned brands such as Lush Cosmetics, Puma, and Cosmopolitan, showcasing her ability to merge creativity with impactful storytelling.

A Visionary for Filipino Stories

Casielle’s commitment to celebrating her roots is evident not only in her visual art but also in her contributions to Filipino literature. She illustrated two children’s books: Bodega Princess by Deirdre Levy and Kalayaan by Katherine Serrano, both of which bring Filipino narratives to life for young audiences.

Art Meets Flavor

As the first Dear Flor Artist-in-Residence, Casielle will craft original pieces for our product display pages. Her art will embody the energy, vibrancy, and storytelling of Filipino flavors like Ube Boba and Buko Pandan, creating a seamless blend of visual culture and culinary inspiration. This collaboration will reimagine how our community experiences Dear Flor online, making it a feast for both the eyes and taste buds.

Building a Creative Platform

The Artist-in-Residence program is just the beginning of our journey to foster and showcase Filipino artistry. By providing a platform for artists like Casielle, we hope to inspire others to embrace their creativity while celebrating their heritage. Dear Flor will be commissioning work from up-and-coming Filipino artists on an ongoing basis. If you are an artist interested in applying for the Artist-in-Residence program, send us an email with your portfolio here.
